John McGowen

Director of Operations and Program Management

Responsible for the overall program management and identification, coordination and implementation of projects for customers at AzCATI, as well as the identification and implementation of best practices in algae growth and processing, standardization of methodologies and the implementation of long-term cultivation feedstock trial experimental framework. John has a specific focus on large-scale proposal development, teaming, industrial outreach, collaboration and industry relationship management and has over 20 years of experience in project/portfolio management and technology development.

Within AzCATI, Weiss researches the engineering of large-scale algae consortia for carbon capture and sustainable bioproduction. As ERM faculty, he educates on toxicological management and water treatment technologies.
