Bio

Peter Lammers joined the faculty at Arizona State University in January of 2015 as research professor and chief scientist at the Arizona Center for Algal Technology and Innovation (AzCATI). Previous positions include technical director of the Energy Research Laboratory at New Mexico State University (2010-2014), vice president for Biotechnology at Solix Biosystems (2009-2010) and professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at New Mexico State University (1985-2009). He received his doctorate in environmental science-chemistry from Portland State University in 1982 followed by postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Professor Robert Haselkorn at the University of Chicago. His current research is focused on the use of extremophilic algae for wastewater treatment and resource recovery.
